Personal Care Products, Household and Laundry Detergents

CCPB srl assesses organic and natural cosmetics, medical products containing ingredients from organic agriculture, and household and laundry detergents under the relevant certification programmes. For requests from Türkiye, programme applicability and service scope are confirmed according to product classification and the relevant authorisations.

NATRUE Cosmetics

NATRUE is a non-profit organisation founded by European producers that developed a private standard for natural and organic cosmetics. CCPB srl was the first Italian certification body recognised by NATRUE.

The current NATRUE standard has two certification levels for finished products: natural cosmetics and organic cosmetics. At the organic level, at least 95% of the natural and derived natural substances of plant and animal origin covered by the standard’s calculation rules must come from certified organic farming or eligible wild collection. This does not mean 95% of the product’s total weight; category-specific formulation requirements also apply.

NATRUE Certification Process

1. Submit the application, raw-material and finished-product information forms, and the documents required by the standard.
2. Complete the financial agreement, including NATRUE fees, and the certification agreement.
3. Documents and formulations are assessed, followed by inspection of manufacturing facilities and products.
4. Following independent evaluation and a positive decision, a certificate is issued and the business and products are entered in the relevant list.
5. Ongoing compliance is checked through surveillance. Changes, including the addition or removal of products, must be reported.

Organic Cosmetics

CCPB’s organic cosmetics programme includes organic cosmetics and cosmetics with organic ingredients, classified according to raw materials from organic agriculture. Minimum content levels and calculation methods are assessed against the chosen category and current production standard.

Raw-material origin, organic documentation and conformity are reviewed. Prohibitions and restrictions concerning petroleum derivatives, synthetic colourants, fragrances and GMOs are checked under the applicable standard. Traceability of eligible ingredients such as floral waters, vegetable oils, essential oils and plant extracts is verified.

Natural Cosmetics

The natural cosmetics standard addresses the natural origin of raw materials and minimum requirements for formulation and manufacturing. CCPB’s minimum 90% natural raw-material requirement is assessed under the standard’s calculation rules and product category. Permitted processing methods and prohibited or restricted ingredients are also reviewed.

Application and Assessment

• Prepare the application form, product and raw-material files, and required attachments.
• Provide technical documentation describing product characteristics, manufacturing and traceability.
• Sign the financial and certification agreements.
• Document assessment and on-site inspection of manufacturing facilities are performed.
• Following an independent positive decision, eligible products are certified and entered in the product register.
• Subsequent surveillance checks continued compliance with the standard.

Household and Laundry Detergents

Raw materials, formulations, manufacturing, traceability and product claims are assessed under the relevant programme. Applicants should provide product lists, raw-material technical documents, draft labels and manufacturing flows.

Important: Natural or organic certification does not mean a product is risk-free for every user or has medical efficacy. Applicable product-safety and legal requirements remain separate obligations.

Vegan product requests are assessed under the scope and requirements of the separate vegan certification programme.
